Many people consider their pet as being part of the family and for those that are planning on moving; transporting your pet can be extremely stressful and logistically difficult, especially if the distance is great.

Many pet owners find the hardest part of moving with a pet being transporting them from one location to the other. If you require that your pet be sent via airplane, make sure the flight is as quick as possible, choose direct flights only and talk to the airline on the entire process beforehand so that you can best prepare your pet for transportation.

Usually preparation consists of trying to make your pet as comfortable as possible before the flight, making sure that your pet has identification on him or her at all times and talking with a veterinarian on the best practices for pets that are flying.

Once you are at your new Dallas apartment with your pet, allow your pet to look around and explore. Just like people, many pets will need to acquaint themselves with their new home before settling down and feeling comfortable.
